Ship Board Anti-Piracy Teams
.
Recent events make clear the danger faced by cargo ships operating in the Indian Ocean. Somali pirates, although unsophisticated, have nearly free access to unarmed merchant vessels operating within their areas of influence. A review of many of these incidents reveals that the pirates could have been successfully repelled by even small tactical teams armed with the appropriate light weapons.

Global Security Group has assembled specialized units to provide on-board protection for ships transiting these dangerous waters. All our operators are highly experienced and well-trained and are drawn from specialized military units (Navy Seals, Army Special Forces, Marine Recon etc.) or SWAT teams (federal, NYPD ESU and others). Each team will be lead by a senior specialist with particular experience in maritime operations. Civilian crew members will be trained in the appropriate response measures to allow the security specialist to operate effectively in this environment.

Each shipboard operation will be created specifically for the individual vessel protected. GSG will work closely with the governments and agencies involved to ensure strict compliance with evolving international law pertaining to the legality of using force to prevent acts of piracy.

GSG will provide these services at an affordable price point allowing ship owners to protect their assets in a financially viable manner. Our teams can meet your vessels at the last safe port of call before reaching areas of concern and will disembark upon safe passage. Please contact us for more information.

"As of April 2009 Somali pirates are holding approximately 16 ships and approximately 270 crewmembers for ransom. In virtually all of the cases the initial assault was primitive. These pirate groups are successful not because of their skill and tactical ability but rather because their victims are entirely unprepared to respond to aggressive hostile action".

Somali Pirates Vow Revenge
"Every country will be treated the way it treats us," said Abdullahi Lami, one of the pirates holding a Greek ship anchored in the pirate den of Gaan, a central Somali town.

"In the future, America will be the one mourning and crying," he told The Associated Press by telephone. "We will retaliate for the killings of our men."
