Prerequisite: Active law enforcement or military or authorized security professionals
Required equipment:

• M-4 / M-16 .223 carbine or variant, sling, 4 magazines.
• Semi-automatic pistol, strong side hip holster, 4 magazines, magazine pouch (worn on support side), 1,800 rounds of ammunition (carbine) and 150 rounds of ammunition for pistol.

This is a developmental course and will cover the fundamentals of using the carbine. Topics will include:

• Sight alignment & sight picture

• Slinging the weapon

• Clearing malfunctions
